What is the best way to paint over wallpaper?
We live in an old house that has plaster walls and a ton of wallpaper. I can’t even begin to pull the wallpaper off. It is a very old house and there are probably 30 layers of wallpaper. I really want to paint the walls. Please let me know the best way to paint the walls.
Sorry; but with so much paper you are going to have to remove it;
The paint will most likely wet it and come loose as time goes by.
Use a paint roller with hot water and vinegar (vinegar loosens glue)
Do not try and do it in one day but rather one wall a day, it won* seem so bad.
Once you get started it goes fairly easy. Make some slits/scratches in the paper with a sharp fork or knife; wet the paper; wait about 20 minutes and start peeling, usually comes off in big, big strips. Keep a large trash can handy. Been there done that.
